Merry Christmas everyone.

Hi everyone. My son Peter is the IT hotshot here. I just write stuff. He tells me we have a lot of regular visitors to the site, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for showing an interest in our site, and to wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. In particular, I would like to send a special ‘Merry Christmas’ to Shiela in Minnesota. Thank you for your many informative and constructive comments. I always look forward to reading them.

Also, I would like to say ‘Hi’ to a very fine writer named John O’Dowd in New Jersey. I have had the honor of communicating with him recently, and to have read his wonderful book about the tragic star Barbara Payton entitled Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye. If ever a promising life was thrown away in the search for fame (and love) it was hers. I just finished reading John’s superb book and thoroughly recommend it to anyone who loves movies, and has compassion for those unfortunate souls who have fallen by the wayside throughout Tinsel Town’s, at times, turgid past.  John pulls no punches in his biography, but he also feels for his subject and tries to understand what drove her from stardom to utter degradation in less than a decade.

Merry Christmas, Shiela, John and everyone from Australia.

Regards

Alan and Peter Royle

  1. Alan, I was quite touched by your “special greeting”, and comments,
{although I sometimes wonder if my responses to your posts
    are excessive.]

To You and Peter, enjoy your Christmas and New Years,

    Sheila, from Minnesota

    • Your responses are never excessive and always welcome, Sheila. My apologies for spelling your name incorrectly. Here in Australia it is spelt ‘Shiela’ and ‘Sheila’. But I got lazy. Should have checked.
